Customized Aluminum Trucks Lead the Way in the 100 Billion Dollar New Energy Cold Chain Market
With the global "dual-carbon" policy, customized, lightweight aluminum trucks are experiencing a boom. Data show that the global market size for these vehicles is expected to reach 138 billion U.S. dollars by 2025. China is expected to account for over 55% of the market due to policy incentives and technological breakthroughs.
Aluminum trucks made with aluminum alloy materials (with a density of only one-third that of steel) can reduce body weight by 30%-50%. In cold chain transportation, aluminum refrigerated trailers can reduce the loss rate of fresh milk from 15% to less than 6% due to their strong corrosion resistance and low weight. This is in line with the domestic cold chain market's average annual growth rate of 12%.
At the policy level, China's "Commercial Vehicle Lightweight Development Guide" requires that the aluminum alloy rate of trucks exceed 40% by 2026. Superimposed on the European Union's carbon tariffs, enterprises such as Weiqiao, Shengtong, and Tianli are reducing the cost of aluminum material by 15%-20% through the whole industry chain layout and "aluminum bank" recycling model. The industry has pointed out that the track is moving from the technology introduction period into the scale expansion period. Intelligent aluminum carriages and expansion into the Southeast Asian market have become a new growth point.
